Queen of Teen. Vote for me! Again!

Salut!

Head like a sieve these days. Forgot to tell you that I've made the shortlist of the Queen of Teen awards and y'all need to vote for me. Which you can do here

Someone has to represent for the older, snarkier, sexier end of the teen fic world and that someone could be me. My fate is in your hands. Tell all your friends. Post the link on Facebook etc etc. Lather, rinse repeat.

In other news, my second grown-up book, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, is now with the copy editor, I've started my third grown-up book and I am working on a teen thing, but don't have a publisher as yet so it might not see the light of day for a while. In the meantime, if I were you, I'd check out this amazing blog.

Back to the coalface of literature...

Live on

I just finished reading Nobody's Girl. Like literally, it is right besides my right knee while I am typing away on my laptop. I would've gotten it earlier but buying books are a luxury for me. The city libraries in Toronto are gold but they don't track paperbacks and my mom moved us out to the depths of the suburbs. But I finally went to the library here and since no one seems to read I can get whatever I want even new releases.

I am days away from eighteen and going to University back in Toronto in a few weeks, so this book was perfect for the whole scary transition/new experience thing. I wish I had more words for it, especially as a girl who likes to write but I'm no fancy newspaper reviewer. I read all the time, I form impressions, I'm inspired and I sometimes even fall in love with books. I fell in love with your book.

I'm speaking nonsense. This should be an e-mail. Oh well. C'est la vie.

p.s. the Los Campesinos t-shirt made you forever the Queen of Teen in my mind. I love them to death and I giggled at Toph listening to Straight in at 101 in my head.

Hi, I just want to say (type) a HUGE thank-you for Belle and Sebastian... im now 17 and when i was 12 i read pretty things and fell in love with that band. Tigermilk is just incredible.
So, Im saying this because I saw them live recently at Latitude and had one of the best times of my life so far- cant listen to Step Into My Office without smiling!
Thanks!
